Back in my day, we didn’t have auto-tune. We had what we called, backing vocals. Below is a perfect example. Dave Stewart (half of the Eurythmics) is a guitarist, not a singer. That didn’t stop him from pursuing a solo career. He hired a female backing vocalist that could carry a tune, and went forth and produced music. Not really meant to be a criticism, Dave Stewart did produce some good music. Below is an example.
